A Look Back – Our 2026 Spring Government User Group: Collaboration, Conversation, & Client Success

At Primepoint, one of the things we value most is the partnership we have with our clients. While technology plays an important role in what we do, it’s the relationships we build that truly make the difference. That’s why events like our Spring Government User Group are so important to us.

Recently, we welcomed government clients from across New Jersey to the Stone Terrace for a day dedicated to learning, networking, and sharing ideas with peers who face many of the same challenges every day.

From the moment attendees arrived for breakfast and networking, the focus was on bringing people together. The conversations started early and continued throughout the day as clients connected with fellow municipalities, Primepoint team members, and industry experts.

Learning from Industry Leaders

We were honored to welcome several outstanding guest speakers who shared valuable insights and expertise.

The day began with opening remarks from Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, who discussed the importance of collaboration and innovation within local government.

One of the highlights of the event was our keynote presentation by Louis R. Lessig, Esq., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Partner at Brown & Connery, LLP. Lou provided an engaging and timely discussion on the implications of the “No Tax on Overtime?” provisions within the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and what public employers need to know moving forward. His practical approach and deep knowledge of employment law gave attendees plenty to think about.

During lunch, attendees heard from Alejandra Silva, Director of Human Resources for Mercer County, who joined Jerry Hampton and other county representatives for a discussion about partnership, collaboration, and the opportunities that come from working together to serve employees and residents more effectively.

Breakout Sessions Focused on Real-World Challenges

After lunch, attendees chose between two breakout tracks tailored to their specific interests.

Our Time & Labor Management Session explored overtime tracking requirements under OBBBA and featured insights from Primepoint’s own Jim Holland, Dennis Murphy, and Chris Manzi.

Meanwhile, our HR Solutions Session focused on helping organizations streamline employee changes and approvals within Primepoint Business Access. Alex Bothwell shared practical tips and best practices designed to make everyday HR tasks easier and more efficient.

These smaller sessions provided attendees with opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another, something that remains one of the most valuable aspects of every user group we host.

What’s New at Primepoint

The afternoon wrapped up with updates on several exciting initiatives and enhancements, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence developments
  • Secure Act 2.0 updates
  • Performance Management solutions
  • Pension Deduction Code enhancements

These sessions gave clients a glimpse into the ways Primepoint continues to invest in technology and services that help organizations operate more efficiently.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

Events like these wouldn’t be possible without the support of our valued partners.

A special thank you to Jason DeMarco and the team at Insurance Solutions for sponsoring breakfast and helping attendees start the day with great conversations and connections.

We’d also like to thank Dave Burkhardt and Margarita Hudgins from Colonial Life for sponsoring lunch and for Margarita’s presentation during the morning session. We appreciate their continued partnership and support of our government clients.

More Than Software, It’s Partnership

At the end of the day, our Government User Groups are about much more than HR, payroll, and technology.

They’re an opportunity for clients to connect with one another, share ideas, discuss challenges, and learn from experts who understand the unique needs of the public sector. They also allow us to listen, to hear what’s working, what’s changing, and how we can continue to support our clients’ success.

We’re grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s Spring Government User Group a success. We look forward to continuing the conversation and seeing everyone again at our next event.

Because when our clients succeed, we succeed—and that’s what partnership is all about.
