Mental Health: What A Stigma Free Workplace Looks Like

Mental health is top of mind everywhere these days as about twenty percent of adult Americans report symptoms of mental illness according to the Centers for Disease Control. Workplace mental health concerns such as anxiety, stress, burnout, and depression had already been growing, and then the COVID-19 pandemic and remote work situations just intensified these matters. It is no secret that work-related factors, especially during the pandemic, are impacting employee’s mental health. It is no longer a bonus to discuss mental health in the workplace, employers have a responsibility to support employees.

Speaker Bios:

Erica Polaneczky, MSN, APRN, ANP-C

Nurse Advocate

As part of the Workplace Wellness team, Erica helps Innovative build, plan, and deliver health promotion activities tailored to each client’s culture and member population. She works with internal teams and clients to improve wellness outcomes, increase care accessibility, and reduce costs. Erica also presents seminars and coaches individual client-members to help them achieve optimal health, offering guidance on navigating the healthcare system, physician instructions, and medication compliance.

Prior to this role, Erica spent over 15 years in pre-admission testing at Hahnemann University Hospital, worked as a nurse practitioner and staff nurse, and serves on the clinical adjunct faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine. She holds a B.S. in Nursing from DeSales University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University.

Terriann Procida

Terriann Procida is the CEO of Innovative Benefit Planning, LLC in Moorestown, New Jersey, where she leads the company’s commitment to “Putting People First.” With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, she provides nationwide employee benefit services. Under her leadership, the certified woman-owned business is known for inventive strategies that position clients as employers of choice.

Her work with diverse businesses helps her address key challenges such as attracting talent, fostering inclusivity, and supporting well-being. Terriann also engages in professional and volunteer activities, serving on nonprofit boards like Archway Programs and as Chairwoman of the United Benefit Advisors Board.
