New Jersey’s Family Leave Insurance Law, commonly known as “NJ Paid Family Leave,” takes effect January 1, 2009. The law applies to all private and governmental employers subject to the Unemployment Compensation Law.
Beginning July 1, 2009, the law will provide up to six weeks of family leave insurance benefits to covered individuals to bond with a newborn or newly adopted child, or to care for a child, spouse, domestic partner, civil union partner or parent with a serious health condition.Information for Employers Information for Employees Attention Employers!
